Gana Gorka was the singer of the Czech folk band Asonance. In the Czech Republic, the singer of the folk band Asonance, Gana Gorka, has died. She deliberately infected herself with the coronavirus in order to be able to visit public institutions after her illness. The death of the 57-year-old singer was confirmed by her son. Gorka wrote on social media that she was feeling better after testing positive for the coronavirus, but she died two days after that post.
The son of singer Yan Rek revealed that Gorka intentionally infected himself with the coronavirus when the infection was detected in him and his father. Rek and his father are fully vaccinated, but still contracted the virus in late December. Instead of isolating herself, Gorka stayed with them. The singer, however, has not been vaccinated. “She was supposed to isolate herself for a week after our positive diagnosis, but she didn’t stay away from us,” Rek said.
After her recovery, the singer planned to obtain a COVID pass, which is required in the Czech Republic to enter certain establishments, including cinemas, bars and cafes. Two days before her death, Gorka wrote that she was feeling better. “Now I’ll be able to go to the theater, sauna and concert,” she added.
On Sunday morning, the day of her death, the singer told her loved ones that she was feeling better and got dressed to go for a walk. But suddenly her back began to hurt and she lay down in the bedroom. “Ten minutes later it was over. She was suffocating,” her son said.
Hana Gorka was a singer in the folk band Asonance, one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. She wanted to be infected with the virus so that nothing would limit her movements after she recovered, her son said. Yan Rik says his mother’s band was legendary among country and folk music fans.
We explain quickly, simply, and clearly what happened, why it matters, and what happens next. The number of offers should remain: episodes. The end of the story: Promotional Podcasts.
Ian Rek stresses that although his mother was not vaccinated, she did not subscribe to conspiracy theories about the origin of the virus or vaccines. “She simply preferred infection to vaccination. She never talked about microchips or anything like that,” says the singer’s son. “Trying to convince her to get vaccinated was useless, as she would react very emotionally to such conversations,” added Yan Rek. He hopes her story will convince more people to get vaccinated. “When you have real-life examples in front of you, it is more persuasive than graphs and numbers. It is hard to empathize with numbers,” he says.
